Octomiser does not gather any personal data. Your API key and account information stay on your device and in your private iCloud account. You have complete control and can remove it whenever you like. This is only a short overview—please read the full declaration below.
This application operates as a local client only. We do not collect, process, or store any personal data. All information you enter remains exclusively on your devices through Apple's iCloud synchronization. There is no mechanism for developers or third parties to access your data. 1. Data Handling
The app functions as a local client - we do not have servers or data collection mechanisms.
Any data you choose to enter (API key, meter details) is stored only on your Apple devices using iCloud synchronization.
This data never leaves your personal iCloud account and is protected by Apple's security infrastructure.
2. Lawful Basis for Processing
We rely on your explicit consent as our lawful basis for collecting and processing your personal data, which you provide when you enter your API key, meter details, and other relevant data into this application.
In some cases, we may also process your data to comply with any legal obligations or regulatory requirements that apply to us.
3.Data Storage and Security
Your data is protected by:
- Apple's iCloud security infrastructure
- Your device security (Face ID/Touch ID/Passcode)
- iOS app sandboxing restrictions
Even the developer cannot access your iCloud-stored data.
4. Data Sharing and Authorisation
By providing your API key and meter details, you authorise Octopus Energy to share your energy consumption data with this application for the purposes specified in Section 1.
We do not share your data with any third parties beyond what is essential for the application's core functionality, unless compelled by court order or other legal obligation.
5. Data Retention
We will retain your API key and meter details on your device for as long as you choose to keep them in the application.
You can delete your data at any time using the in-app controls. Once removed, the application will no longer be able to retrieve your personal energy data.
6. Your Rights
Full Data Control: You can view, edit, or delete all app data at any time through:
- The app's settings interface
- iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage
Deleting the app will remove all associated data from your devices and iCloud.
7. Octopus Energy API Terms of Service
By entering your API key and meter details, you confirm that you have read and agree to the Octopus Energy API Terms of Service, which govern the access and usage of Octopus Energy's platform.
This Declaration supplements, but does not replace, any separate agreement you may have with Octopus Energy regarding their services.
8.Changes to This Declaration
We reserve the right to update or modify this Declaration from time to time to reflect changes in our data processing practices or legal obligations.
Any significant changes will be communicated within the application or by other means. Your continued use of the application after any such update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
